The tracks for the Diesel 70 are getting painted! This support structure was custom built to support the sprockets and tracks vertically so painting time is cut in half. The goal is to have this piece of history ready for the Legacy Center this coming spring.

Today, Executive Director Ross Kurth gave 2nd graders from Ed-Co a tour where kids got to see how the machines have grown in size and power over the years, learn how a 3D printer is different than the a printer at home, and they got their picture taken while sitting in a CAT 10! We welcome classroom visits from all ages.

Bill and Angela Zimmerman from Peoria, IL worked for Caterpillar for 35 years. On their visit, we learned that Bill helped engineer and test blades and other transmission parts for the first D10 dozer, so we decided to give him a behind the scenes look at a bolt-off refurbishing of one of our D10's.
