Stripping it down to build it back better.
The next stage in our Caterpillar 666 restoration is officially underway — and it’s a big one. In Episode 4, we move this massive scraper into the blasting bay, where Paint Prep Technician Jesse Cable takes over with one very important job: removing decades of rust, grime, and worn-out paint.
Sandblasting isn’t just about cleaning — it’s a crucial step that sets the stage for everything that follows. A proper blast ensures that the new paint bonds cleanly and evenly, giving this earthmoving beast a second life that looks as good as it runs.

The Caterpillar 666 scraper is a legend in the dirt world — a powerhouse of design and performance from an era when machines were made to work hard and last forever. At the Earthmoving Legacy Center, we’re proud to preserve that legacy with each project, and this restoration is no exception.
